My Take on Voting Early and Avoiding the Political Axe Grinding

I haven't paid the least bit attention this past three weeks to any political ad on TV, radio, or in the mail. Not the slightest bit.

You see, we voted absentee ballot about three weeks ago. No need to worry about the polls, the TV diatribes (did I use that word correctly?), the signs lining the neighborhood streets. Nope. Haven't paid them one iota of attention.

Wouldn't it be funny if everyone voted absentee? Think of the campaigns that could just shut down completely three weeks prior. Whoa! That would be pretty doggone cool. Three weeks of political quiet until the ballots are counted the first Tuesday of November.

I say we start a movement! Vote Absentee and Vote Early!

(Where's my smiley face icons...can't find 'em!)

I like your idea. Our polling place was very quiet. Only a few signs and no campaigners.

Sounds good to me. I voted two weeks ago when early voting opened in my state. My husband and I were both in the first 200 to vote in our county. We went at different times and didn't realize until we got home that we must have just missed each other. He was 173 and I was 179!

Sounds like voting early was pretty liberating for you! All those ads can get to be a bit much. Now we have all the post election hoopla to contend with as well.

I just have to vote on election day. I like the fun and bustle. We have early voting in Alaska, too, but I refuse to do it.

G'morn ~ I hope this finds you doing well ...

The only thing that worries me is that there are even more 'naughties' that can occur when they use mail in ballots ...

Great results, the nation should be able to rise above this administration with our new leadership.

Have a lovely PS ~

We don't have TV, but the radio was inundated. We also received prerecorded calls on our answering machine. From Sarah Palin, Bill Clinton, John McCain. I'm afraid we'd still get those calls even if we voted early.
